Jewelry is a great way to disguise the margins of a prosthesis and can add an extra feeling of “life” to a piece. In this case, the client had no remaining finger at all, so we had to get creative. We designed two silver retentive rings and had them custom made by a local jeweler. The rings hold the prosthesis on without any glue and also serve to hide the edges. Many full finger amputees are told there are no realistic prosthetic options available. Here’s proof that determination, creativity, and ingenuity can make the “impossible” a reality. This webinar will detail the process of fabrication for this type of prosthesis.
